Avril Lavigne is a Canadian singer and songwriter who earned the title of “Pop Punk Queen” in the early 2000s. In 2002 she released her debut studio album Let Go which is the best-selling album of the 21st century by a Canadian artist. It featured the hit singles “Complicated” and “Sk8er Boi.” Her sophomore album Under My Skin was released in 2004 and became her first album to reach the top of the Billboard 200 chart in the United States.
Lavigne released her third studio album, The Best Damn Thing in 2007 which reached number one in seven countries. The album featured her first single to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States which is a song called “Girlfriend.”
Avril Lavigne also voiced an animated character in the film Over the Hedge in 2006.
