Evanescence was formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer/musician Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. The band released its debut studio album Fallen in 2003 which included the hit singles “Bring Me to Life” and “My Immortal.” Fallen sold more than 17 million copies worldwide and earned the band two Grammy Awards out of six nominations. It also propelled Evanescence into quick success, making them one of the most sought-after bands of the early 2000’s.
Evanescence has been nominated for 7 Grammy Awards and has won 2. They have also earned three Loudwire Music Awards, a Kerrang! Award, a Revolver Golden Gods Award, a Brit Award nomination, three American Music Award nominations, and five MTV Video Music Award nominations.
The band’s lineup changed several times over the years, with Lee as the only constant member since forming. The current lineup includes Amy Lee, Tim McCord (guitarist), Troy McLawhorn (guitarist), and Will Hunt (drummer). Former Sick Puppies bassist Emma Anzai is currently serving as a touring member of the band.
